ABA divulga a indicação de nossa presidente como
representante internacional em seus conselho
executivo.
Dear FNAME/Dear
Dr. LNAME:
On behalf of the Association for Behavior Analysis
International (ABAI)
Executive Council, I am writing to introduce and
welcome our new
International Representative to the ABAI Council.
Dr. Martha Hubner was
appointed to complete the elected term vacated
earlier this summer. She
will serve the remainder of the term, from 2009 to
2011. Dr. Hubner is
uniquely qualified to represent international
members and issues on the
ABAI Council. She is a Brazilian resident and
citizen and Professor in
Experimental Psychology at the Institute of
Psychology, University of
Sao Paolo; Coordinator of After Graduation -
PSE-IPUSP. She is the
president of the Brazilian Association for
Psychotherapy and Behavioral
Medicine, Brazil's most established behavioral
organization and ABAI's
largest chapter, as well as past president of the
Brazilian Association
of Psychology. She is also the Brazilian Liaison for
the B. F. Skinner
Foundation. She has well established executive and
association
leadership experience.
Dr. Hubner conducts research at the Laboratory for
the Study of Verbal
Operants (LEOV) involving complex mannering
processes in the acquisition
of symbolic behaviors such as reading, writing,
human dialogue, and
verbal episodes. She is currently immersed in two
groups of research:
investigating the empirical relationship between
verbal and non-verbal
behavior and analyzing the processes of control for
minimum units in
reading through the paradigm of relations
equivalence.
Dr. Hubner is has committed her professional life to
the international
development of behavior analysis and is fully
prepared to represent the
needs of international members on the Council. Her
first order of
business will be the solicitation of proposals for
the 2011
international ABAI conference. We are very pleased
that Dr. Hubner
accepted our invitation to serve on the Council.
Questions and concerns
about international issues in ABAI and the field may
be directed to her
at martha@hubner.org.br.
Sincerely,
Maria E. Malott, Ph.D.
